Real Stories. Real Life. Good muzik.

Dorm Room Muzik derived its name from the literal place of its conception. In a dorm room at Utah State, three college athletes began making music with an ASR10 and a 4-track recorder. Pharoah Davis played basketball for Utah State at the same time Richie Panelli attended the school on a track scholarship. The pair teamed up with Davis’s teammate Rick Randall, to form R.A.P. (Rameses – Apprentice – Precision.) Randall has since taken the name Backwood Slick, and gone on to record with Eightball, Fabolous, and Frank Nitty.
When the members of R.A.P. (Davis, Panelli and Randall) graduated college in 1999, they went their separate ways, but continued to stay connected through music. Years later, Davis and Panelli rejoined forces in Reno, NV and picked up where they left off. Davis’s wife Natasha, a singer out of Melbourne, Australia, came onboard a short time later. The trio created Dormroom Muzik.
Dormroom provides a positive platform for independent artists to showcase their talents and reach people through rhythm and verse. This brand of conscious hip-hop resonates with the concept of living life and making music. It’s the everyday man’s music – just real music about real life.
